Having just arrived in the Vendée for work, I'm looking for temporary accommodation until I buy a house. I work as a joiner on a permanent contract in Mouilleron le Captif. My colleague recommended the Ambois campsite in La Roche sur Yon because it's open all year round and offers the gite rental in La Roche sur Yon from September to June.
The gîte that I was offered is a very well equipped 20 m2 studio gîte. It has a kitchenette, a double bed, a bathroom and storage space. What's more, wifi is included in the rent. I also have a parking space for my car and 300 kWh of electricity. I also get television.
I just needed to set up my suitcases and it was perfect, just what I was looking for!
The Ambois campsite has a laundry. I can buy my tokens at reception, where I can also receive my mail on site.
What's more, the location of the gîte is ideal. As I work at Strolling. In these conditions, at weekends I have the chance to discover the area around the campsite.
There's a cycle path just outside the campsite, so I've had some really nice, safe bike rides in the heart of nature.
The great Puy du Fou park is only 45 minutes from the campsite. That's why, for the first time, I went to discover their magnificent shows.
During a weekend I went to the Vendée coast to see the large beach of Sables d'Olonne. First I took a walk along the Remblai. Then I had a drink at the beach bar overlooking the sea.
My stay in the gite rental in La Roche sur Yon went wonderfully well. In fact, it enabled me to find a home for my family.
As the notice period at the campsite was 15 days, I was able to move in and leave the campsite at the right time.
My only regret is leaving my haven of peace.
