1/ What is VACAF?
The VACAF scheme was set up in 1999 to help families go on holiday at a lower cost. Families go on holiday to campsites or gîtes approved by the CAF.

2/ What is the AVF?
The Aide Vacances Familiales or AVF* is financial assistance from the CAF that covers part of the cost of a stay (minimum 2 days). A large number of Caisses d'allocation familiale (CAF) are partners of this VACAF scheme in France.
3/ How do I know if I qualify for VACAF aid?
The conditions for AVF are specific to each département. In general, criteria such as the age and number of children and the family quotient are taken into account when awarding family holiday assistance. For more information about this assistance, contact the CAF in your département.
