1/ What is VACAF?
The VACAF scheme was set up in 1999 to help families in difficulty to go on holiday at a lower cost. They can go camping or to CAF-approved gîtes.
For example, whether it's by the sea, in the countryside or in the mountains, the AVF* enables you to go on a family holiday in a place that's as close to home as possible. Camping VACAF at Vendée. What's more, there are more than 3,600 establishments across the country.
2/ What is the AVF?
Aide vacances familiales or AVF* is financial assistance from the CAF that covers part of the cost of a stay (minimum 2 days). A large number of Caisse d'allocation familiale (CAF) are partners of this VACAF scheme in France.
3/ Am I entitled to VACAF assistance?
The conditions for AVF are specific to each département. In general, the age of the children, the number of children and the family quotient are taken into account when awarding the family holiday allowance. For more information about this assistance, please contact your CAF.
