The hedgerows bordering our pitches at L’Ambois are in bloom, wildflowers line the cycle paths (including the famous one just 150 metres from the campsite), and the surrounding animal parks are welcoming their new residents. It’s the ideal time to visit the Extraordinary Kitchen Garden or the Puy du Fou. At this time, visitor numbers are moderate, allowing you to enjoy the shows and gardens with complete peace of mind.
The spring climate
The days are getting longer and the sun is starting to really warm up the terraces of our chalets and mobile homes. It’s the perfect time for «slow tourism»: we take the time to watch the wildlife reclaiming its territory across the 7 hectares of our wooded park. The temperatures are ideal for long cycle rides to La Roche-sur-Yon without suffering from the heat.

Summer: The Season of Togetherness (July and August)

July and August are the quintessential months for socialising. Our heated outdoor swimming pool becomes the beating heart of the campsite. Children create lasting memories here whilst their parents enjoy a relaxing moment on the sun loungers. It’s also the season for night markets in neighbouring villages such as Mouilleron-le-Captif, where you can discover local crafts in a festive atmosphere.

Thanks to the dense vegetation and the heavily wooded grounds of L’Ambois, we offer our holidaymakers a unique form of natural thermal comfort. In the height of summer, whilst the concrete of the cities radiates heat, our large, centuries-old oak trees provide welcome shade. This «natural air conditioning» keeps the accommodation cool and ensures peaceful nights, lulled by a gentle breeze, far from the stifling heat of urban areas.

Late Season: The Underrated Favourite (September and October)
If you have the opportunity to travel outside of the school holidays, September and October are absolutely wonderful months in Vendée. This is what we call the season of gold and calm here.
A unique light
Autumn light is undoubtedly the most beautiful of the year. It enhances the landscapes, casts a golden glow over the vineyards of southern Vendée and transforms our tree-lined park into a painting of warm colours. It’s the perfect time to visit the Poitevin Marsh. The canals are quieter, the morning mist over the water is magical, and the boatmen have even more time to tell you about the local legends.

In the off-season, time seems to slow down. The locals are more available for a chat, major tourist attractions such as the Logis de la Chabotterie can be visited in complete tranquillity, and rental rates in L’Ambois become particularly attractive.
